THE REPVBLIC (TR) organized a two-part career workshop with the theme “Transcending PolSights: A Career Opportunity Workshop” at the Pamanang Bedista last June 7.

Its morning session was headlined by Vaneza Marie D. Reglos, a licensed Psychometrician and a professional working in Human Resourceswho discussed the procedure of Civil Service Examinations, writing a resume, and Curriculum Vitae (CV) as well as the difference between the two documents.

Furthermore, Reglos also discussed with the Political Science students how to ace a job interview as well as managing their salary expectations. What followed was an open forum to answer many of the specific queries that the participants had which capped off the morning session.

Afterwards, Atty. Kerwin Cruz led the afternoon session and lectured on understanding different parts of legal cases. Atty. Cruz walked students through the essential components of a case, including the caption, issues, doctrines, and more. This session aimed to equip aspiring law students with the critical skills to excel in their legal education journey.

“This aims to break the image of Political Science from being seen only as a pre-law course that requires students to proceed,” TR mentioned during the afternoon session.

Additionally, TR posted on their Facebook page that their workshop embraced the values of Benedictine Hallmarks which are Conversatio and Community, and aligned with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) 4 (Quality Education)  and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). The Repvblic plans to organize more empowering events in the future.
