LONG LIVE, LILITH! Be the star that sheds light to the mind even if you’re just a myth. I know your essence is alive as no one’s stopping me from telling what deems true or addressing a concern that isn’t supposed to be new.
Looking forward to being integrated, I can’t cease to wonder how the integration will go on without most of its tradition—the Laudato Si requirements and the deafening silence due the disbanded drummers.
“I still hope, ‘integration’ for the student body to become one will help reconstruct the divisive factors existing in the university, creating a whole new foothold to keep us united.”
As a student who barged into San Beda during the post-pandemic year, most activities were just the recovery of the university’s past lore.
Not until 3 years of my stay, the long-awaited and most prominent (to alumni’s at least), ‘Integration’ is back to the Lion’s den in my junior year. It is said to be the amalgamation of all students from different departments to carry a whole Bedan identity.
What I find intriguing is that the Integration itself is supposed to mean, ‘incorporating parts to become a whole’, but isn’t that a little bit too ironic when offices or parties or organizations inside the institution aren’t on friendly footing?
The supposedly ‘brotherhood’ of the Bedan community recently parted ways, ended their service for the Bedan community due to internal conflicts; Bedan against another Bedan.
The politics inside the campus coming from the different political colors, aiming to spot a position in the student council to lead, whilst bringing the opposition down; yet again, Bedan against another Bedan.
Although the tradition of throwing of foods during the integration will cease according to Laudato Si, it will result in something really ‘good’ not just for the community, but in our environment as well—I still hope, ‘integration’ for the student body to become one will help reconstruct the divisive factors existing in the university, creating a whole new foothold to keep us united.
Well, those are just some of the questions I’d like to clear up, Adam. If you wouldn’t disregard it, we would be happy, of course!
This is Lilith, this is what I see, and I refuse to be looked down upon.
