In Vol. 81, we are on the lookout for fresh talent, bold thinkers, and aspiring journalists who are eager to join our ranks. The Bedan is now accepting applications for the following positions:
Writer
Are words your paintbrush, and stories your canvas? Join us as a writer and be the voice that tells the untold stories of the Bedan community. Whether it’s news, features, or creative pieces, your words will inspire, inform, and captivate.
Layout Artist
If you have an eye for design and a knack for making words and visuals come together seamlessly, consider becoming a layout artist. You’ll be responsible for crafting visually appealing and impactful layouts for our publications.
Photographer
Do you see the world through the lens of a camera? Capture the essence of campus life and events as a photographer. Your images will speak volumes and help bring our stories to life.
Online Content Creator
In the digital age, the online realm is where stories can make the most impact. As an online content creator, you’ll be at the forefront of our web and social media presence, engaging our audience with compelling content.
Multimedia Artist
For those who love to blend various forms of media, the role of a multimedia artist is perfect. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with different mediums, creating immersive and interactive experiences for our readers.
Contributor
Don’t see yourself fitting into one specific role? Fear not! The role of a contributor allows you to bring your unique skills and ideas to the table, contributing to our publication in various capacities as needed.
Cartoonist
If you have a talent for humor and visual storytelling, consider joining us as a cartoonist. Your illustrations and cartoons will add a touch of humor, satire, and unique perspective to our publications, making complex issues more accessible and engaging for our readers.

Q: After filling up the form, what shall I do next?
Answer
We will be reaching out to you via your official SBU email account, so kindly wait for a confirmation email and an instruction about the second process for application.
Q: I have finished the form, does that mean I am already a part of The Bedan?
Answer
Not yet, joining The Bedan would require a three-stage process which would be explained once the confirmation email has been emailed on your SBU email account.
Q: When can I expect my confirmation email?
Answer
The confirmation email will be sent to your SBU email address at about 2-3 business days.
Q: Am I expected to ready a portfolio based on my preferred line of work?
Answer
Not necessarily, however, if you already have a background on your preferred line of work then we suggest for a compilation of your works both published and unpublished.
Q: May I still apply even if I have no background about journalism and writing an article?
Answer
Yes, every Bedan student in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is free to apply for their preferred line of work.
Q: I only have interest in cartooning/photography/being a layout/multimedia artist, will I still be required to write an article?
Answer
If you did not tick the ‘Writer’ option in the application form, then you will not be writing.
