FOR THE SECOND time since since the pandemic, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of San Beda University (SBU) celebrated the achievements of its students by conducting an on-site Dean’s List convocation ceremony at the Jonathan Sy Auditorium last May 31.

A total of 923 Bedan Dean’s listers were recognized during the event. The program started off with a message from the CAS Dean himself, Dr. Christian Bryan S. Bustamante, Ph.D., who expressed his pleasure of witnessing a number of Bedans who have stood true to the university’s pursuit of excellence.

In response to a call from posts in the SBU Freedom Wall Facebook page, Dean Bustamante slammed all propositions of lessening the criteria of issuing the Latin honors as it would “compromise the quality” which SBU had sought immensely.

Moving forward, the awarding proper began on which the chairpersons of each CAS department were called upon on stage to award the Bedan Dean’s listers belonging to their respective departments.

Due to the great number of achievers, Bedan ushers and usherettes were present before the scene to assist with the order of events, most especially during the awarding ceremony itself.

The convocation ended with lion-hearted hearts full of glee as all proudly sang the Bedan Hymn.
