DEMONSTRATING TREMENDOUS SUPPORT for the San Beda University (SBU) Band, the Lady Red Spikers contributed its earnings to the former, presenting a donation amounting to Php100,000 last December 7.

The team has received a check donation from Shakey’s Philippines, which they turned over to Dr. Diosdado Aler III, the University’s Athletics Moderator. This was followed by a pledge to the band that the Lady Red Spikers would “share a portion” from the donation that they received.

According to Lady Red Spikers Assistant Coach Ray Rosales, the purpose of the donation is to “aid with new musical instruments and equipment for the band.” Speaking about what made them push with such initiative, he said that it was to “show support and teamwork in every game.”

“We support the [SBU] Band in its efforts to give the whole San Beda community, especially our student-athletes, promote school pride and camaraderie. We want to help the SBU Band highlight the colorful traditional Bedan cheers which we take pride during our gatherings and NCAA games,” said Coach Ray.

Allen Rogel, the Senior Officer and Pitstop Crew Chief of the Band, expressed his appreciation, exclaiming, “We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible generosity and support we have received from the Women’s Volleyball Team. Your donation has not only touched our hearts but has become a vital force on how we can lead the pride in cheering during games and events.”

The essence of the donation lies in its desire to show camaraderie and extend mutual assistance. The SBU Band has played a significant role in boosting morale during all games, offering support to Bedan fans and athletes alike. Ultimately, the donations and support provided to the band contribute to acquiring new equipment and serve as inspiration for the group.
