RECOGNIZING EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP, the Office of the Prefect of Student Activities (OPSA) awarded the Student Organizational Circle’s (SOC) best at the Parangal at Pasasalamat 2023, hosted by Kaila Estrada at the Abbot Lopez Hall, last July 21.
In the gathering of outstanding organizations and student-leaders, OPSA recognized the milestones and legacies written by the SOC as the chapter closes for academic year 2022-2023.
Awarding the “best of the best,” the Junior Bedan Law Circle (JBLC), San Beda Economic Society (SBES), San Beda Junior Marketing Association (SBJMA), The Repvblic (TR), and Psychology Society of San Beda University (PSSBU) all bagged the Best Professional Organization award.
On the other hand, the Social Sciences & Humanities Association (SSHA), Bedan Volunteers (BV), San Beda Debate Society (SBDS), San Beda Red Lens (SBRL), and the Bedan Scholar’s Guild (BSG) took home the Best Non-Professional Organization award.
Delving into the organization’s projects and programs, Kapisanang Agham ng San Beda’s (KASB) “Project Lambat” was awarded with the Most Responsive to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Award, while, the San Beda English and Literature Society’s (SBELS) “Ascendance” was recognized as the Best Co-Curricular Activity.
SSHA’s “Obra Likha Sining” and JBLC’s “Plata o Porma,” was awarded as the Best Religious Activity and Best Collaborative Intra-School Activity, respectively, while PSSBU’s “International Multidisciplinary Student Research Colloquium” and TR’s “Tayo Ang Soberanya” won the Best Curricular and Best Digital Activities, respectively.
Meanwhile, SBJMA gave pride to their department as the organization took home the trophies for the Best Cultural Activity, Best Digital Publication Material, Best Collaborative Inter School Activity,and Best Advocacy Driven Activity.
Lastly, JBLC’s “Project EBA: Empowered Babae Ako!” was hailed as the Most Outstanding Activity Award, along with its Hall of Famer Activity in “Lingkod Laya.”
The spotlights of the Abbot Lopez Hall also shone brightly on excellent individuals whom are also products of the SOC.
Densie Adriane Ginete, Ron Ashley Trias, Jomarie Vicente, Shelumiel Emuslan, and Gabriela Francin Patag were the awardees of The Outstanding Students of San Beda University-College of Arts and Sciences (TOS SBU-CAS).
Moreover, Prof. Gregorio Borja III, SBJMA moderator, was inducted into the Moderators’ Hall of Fame, being awarded as one of the top moderators, together with Asst. Prof. Rulina Viloria, Assoc. Prof. Jenny De Guia, Prof. Liwayway Acero, and CAS Dean Prof. Christian Bryan Bustamante.
Thereafter, the OPSA and the incoming Student Council (SC) gave tribute to the outgoing Council, whom they said “served the student body and the SOC well.”
To end the program, the new Council, led by the Vice President for Internal Affairs, Julia San Jose as its acting President, officially took their oaths of office in front of the outstanding student leaders, moderators, and administrators of the College.
