THE MANAGEMENT AND Entrepreneurship Society (ManSoc) of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) opened shop in its “Business Boulevard” for their senior entrepreneurship students’ business implementation at the Lydia Tan Sy ground floor from February 27 up to April 13.
Featured first at the Business Boulevard were Kuya EM’s Silogan, Wrap N’ Roll, Javajoy Siomai Rice. Dough-licious, Waffle World, Green Cafe, Shizzle Candles, Aurora’s Night Wear, and Chuicy Beverage, who operated from February 27 to March 2.
Following those business were Akkai Rice Bowl, Que Pasa Tacos Food, Pollo Food Corner, Blackflow Coffee, Instaclick N Printx.ph, Greazely, and L&A Party Needs Rental from March 5 to March 9.
By March 19 up to 24, Fried Chicken Kisok Kwadro Cuts, Munchilicious, Cream Cheese Bites, BrewIT, Oreoz Pastries Shop, SNKR Vault, Me These Days, and Bn’R Sports Center took over the Lydia Tan Sy ground floor.
At the fourth week of the event, Chiptastic, Nabe Nook, AARS Shawarma Station, Wick & Whiff Co., KRL Ambience, Pawsome Treats, and Barton set up shop.
On the other hand, AdoBOX, Ala GO-TO Batangas, Crispy Craze, Saucey Condiments, JEM Men’s Garments GAWAng Yam, PVLB Consumer Goods Trading, 817 Jewelry, and Haspe Wood Products became the last batch selling at the event from April 9 to 13.
On its opening day, Asst. Prof. Jenny de Guia, DBA, the ManSoc moderator and the Chairperson of the Department of Business Management and Entrepreneurship (DBME), shared that the business implementation for entrepreneur students are “akin to on-the-job training (OJTs)” with it being a part of their curriculum.
“This is already a preparation para sa kanila, and some of the students who graduated a few years ago continued their business,” she added, expounding on the opportunities presented by the business implementation.
Moreover, the activity, although located in San Beda, adapted to different markets as the graduating entrepreneurs also offers their products online and accepts payment via cash and through e-wallets.
“Proud ako sa kanila,” added Dr. de Guia, speaking of her students who at an early age were trained and experienced to process business permits from the Department of Trade and Industry and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
In an interview with one of the entrepreneurs, Ethan Macaspac, the owner of Kuya EM’s Silogan, shared that he began a business venture in 2022, with determination to utilize the rise of online businesses.
Innovating the Filipino meal called “Silog” which is a combination of fried rice and egg, he ventured into various types of dishes that would best pair on this meal along with his own recipe of cheese sauce.
With a simple piece of advice for his fellow students who wish to start their business venture, Macaspac emphasized the importance of “doing what you love.”
“Make sure that you are passionate about your business. Magiging part na ng buhay mo ang negosyo mo once na-establish mo ang business mo so make sure that you love what you built,” he concluded.
